Spring has arrived at Lonesome Hollow Honey

The Sun will crossed back over the equator to the northern hemisphere on March 18! Spring is here. Snow is predicted for Colorado. North Texas is began showing her green a few weeks ago. Our bees are already bringing in nectar from the few flowers that have already pushed up from the earth or bloomed on the early sprouting trees. The queens have started increasing the number of bees in their colony. Soon the wildflowers will be prolific across open fields, roadsides, and forests. We will be adding the honey supers (boxes where the bees store the honey you all are waiting for) in early April. This year we have our own honey extractor so if nature treats us well, we may get to have our first honey harvest in May. Keep watching for updates.
